ECI got into the swing of it

The success of the golf tournament fundraiser for the Core Shelter Project is par for the course for the high-powered East Coast Irigueños (ECI).
“Our plan for another 30-40 units of core shelter is on target,” said ECI’s Larry Lee who is also a United Irigueños (UI) trustee and Executive Committee member. The tournament was organized by ECI, a group of 15 Irigueño families, and was held at Pleasant Valley Golf Club in Chantilly, Virginia last Saturday, October 13, 2007.
The shelter project which is overseen by ECI in partnership with National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) is also a UI-supported initiative providing housing for the indigenous people (IP) of Iriga who lost their homes to the devastation of super-typhoon Reming. (more…)
