ILIYAN HEALTH/SANITATION PROJECT

Construction of Iliyan Communal Toilets affecting the health and sanitation of a tribal community at the Mt. Iriga foothills.

SUPER TYPHOON REMING RELIEF

  • Funding for medical treatment and medication for typhoon victims (subsidy for hospital referral and treatment still in effect (please see ongoing Accomplishment Report)
  • Reconstruction of the Iliyan Tribal Hall (the structure serves as convenient venue for educational activities of pre-school and kindergarten children and during calamities as shelter for 30-40 tribal families)
  • Partial rehabilitation of damaged riverside barangay school buildings in coordination with agencies of the Department of Education
  • Feeding program for severely malnourished victims through San Antonio de Padua parish

PARTNERSHIP FOR CORE SHELTER PROJECT

The Core Shelter Project is sponsored by East Coast Iriguenos (ECI) pursuant to a plan by National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP). The project is about providing shelters for the indigenous people (IP) in Iriga who lost their homes during Super Typhoon Reming.

Under a joint undertaking with ECI, UI through outreach and communication will help disseminate information regarding the project.
